Paul Sharland Roofing Ltd has been established since 1998 we have grown in staffing numbers and further reinforced our reputation for quality and experience in roofing through three generations of the Sharland family. We have extensive experience in laying the following materials for roof coverings to single to four storey blocks of flats, houses and commercial premises. We are based in Swindon and cover all surrounding areas.

Paul Sharland Roofing Ltd has over 50 years’ of roofing experience in laying tiles and slates on new build projects and re-roofing existing buildings. If you have a restoration or conservation project we also have a wealth of experience in this field too (see ‘Conservation’ page for more information). Roof tiles and slates are split into two categories: single-lap i.e. interlocking and double-lap i.e. plain tiles and natural and fibre-cement slates.

We provide our services for single dwellings and small, medium and large scale residential developments.  In 2016 we have completed two care home roofs for Porthaven & Stepnell Ltd in Marlborough and Trowbridge respectively. The former was 1,650m2 plain tile roofing and 325 m2 of tile hanging to a new nursing home.  The latter had over 1,400m2 of Marley-Eternit Fibre-Cement Slates and 1,169m2 of Single-Ply flat roofing.

We provide a competent health and safety structure as we are members of the Building Safety Group Ltd, who are based in Bristol.  They are our health and safety external advisors and provide us with periodic site inspections, health & safety advice when requested and a yearly health and safety review. Plain Tiling

Plain tiles can be concrete or clay and both are machine made and the clay type can also be hand crafted.  They can be laid to pitches between 30 and 90 degree depending on the tile selected.  They come in a variety of colours and fittings to suit all kinds of roof construction.

Metric Interlocking Tiling

The variations in the profile, style and finishes make metric tiles a very popular choice when deciding on the roof covering of a building. Concrete and clay are traditional materials used in their manufacture. Single-lap interlocking tiles can be laid to low roof pitches usually 15 degrees and in one example 10 degrees, the Forticrete - Centurion® Low Pitch Roof Tile.
